Job Posting – Front Desk Receptionist
Cygnus Gymnastics Club is inviting applications for the position of Front Desk Receptionist. The successful applicant should be a recent post‑secondary education graduate in the field of Business Administration or other related field of study; however, other applicants with comparable experience and/or education will be considered.
Guiding Function: As the first point of contact for our membership and the public, the position will provide customer service for Club‑related inquires and transactions and perform other administrative-related duties.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Front‑Line Communications
- Answer phones, record and communicate messages
- Respond to general inquiries via telephone, e-mail, fax and/or in person
In-House Communication
- Print and/or distribute information packages (i.e. pamphlets, letters, notices, etc )
- Send e-mails to athletes, parents, coaches, staff and Board members, as required
- Serve as the pick-up/drop off point for athletes
Administration
- Register and record athletes in appropriate programs
- Maintain up-to-date member registration system and other data records
- Order office supplies, as required
Other General Duties
- Ensure general office area, viewing area, bathrooms and change rooms are kept clean and tidy
- Assist with the planning and carrying out of Club competitions and social events
Hours are Tuesdays through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Men's Artistic Gymnastics Coach -
Cygnus Gymnastics is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our coaching team and is inviting applications for the position of:
MEN’S ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS COACH
Cygnus Gymnastics is searching for a qualified individual to coach our Pre-Competitive and Competitive Men’s Artistic Gymnastics athletes. This individual will join a strong team of coaches who are eager to bring gymnastics in the province to the next level and are poised for excellence.
Cygnus Gymnastics Training Centre is Newfoundland and Labrador’s largest Gymnastics Club, located in the heart of St. John’s. The current Men’s Team at Cygnus has experienced growth in the last few years and has achieved success at the Provincial, Atlantic and Eastern levels. Currently, the Men’s Team consists of a strong base of pre-competitive boys and small team of competitive Level 1-4 Boys. With the depth in the program already existing, this program requires a strong, consistent individual to further its development.
In addition to joining our strong and proven coaching staff, the successful candidate will benefit from Cygnus’ new, state-of-the-art training facility stocked with Spieth Anderson equipment. The gym includes a 40’ x 40’ spring floor, in-floor foam pits, in-ground trampoline, and a 40-foot Tumble Trak.
Necessary Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- NCCP Level 2 or equivalent experience.
- Technical Ability to Coach Pre-Competitive to Competitive Athletes
- Great Communication and Organizational Skills
- A clean background confirmed by a Certificate of Conduct
- A commitment to the development of gymnastics at all levels and a good understanding of the sport’s development process.
Salary Expectations
